Corrected reading aloud is the same as uncorrected reading aloud, but with feedback from a tutor, native speaker, or tool that helps you identify and fix pronunciation errors.
How It Differs from Uncorrected
In uncorrected reading aloud, you just practice the physical act of speaking. In corrected reading aloud, someone (or something) is listening and pointing out specific sounds, words, or patterns you're getting wrong. This makes it more targeted and effective for improving pronunciation accuracy.
How to Do It
- Read aloud during a tutoring session and have your tutor correct your pronunciation in real-time
- Record yourself reading aloud, then have a native speaker or AI tool analyze the recording
- Use speech-to-text tools — words that get transcribed incorrectly are probably being mispronounced or said unnaturally
When to Start
Corrected reading aloud is introduced in Phase 4B and continues to be useful through Phase 7.
